When most people first start out singing, they're looking to add power to their voice. But what most people don't realize is that it's not the chest voice that gives the voice its fullness and quality while also enhancing its loudness. It's resonance.

Ten minutes of slow, quiet and gentle warming up should be enough. Let's start with some humming! Always start off with humming even if your voice feels fresh and ready to go. Gentle hum with your mouth closed.

This exercise is a warm up, like the humming in lesson 1 but with a little different in the melody. Different vowels have different effects on the voice. That is why the second lesson contains two exercises with different vowels.

Alternate picking technique.

Improve your timing and rhythm-playing precision! The lesson starts out with a simple variation of a few different chords. The same chords are used for the 2nd part of the song, but the trick here is to get rhythm and timing right as there is an odd time-signature feel going on, but it is 4/4.

We are going to take a look at how to improve and tighten up the picking. The goal here is to PICK every note!
